More than 270 million Americans have cell phones and spend an average of 12½ hours on them each month, despite concerns
of their effect on the body.
Scientists are urging people to take the risk of cell phone radiation seriously – some saying their effects may be as socially dangerous as cigarettes and asbestos. Neurosurgeon Dr. Keith Black says “There is no way to say if cell phone use is safe. I think that the public has a right to know that there is a potential risk. Environmental factors take decades to see their effect, not years.”
