LWIR Thermal Video Cameras 30Hz/60Hz (Fast Video)


A partial list of Un-Cooled Thermal Video Cameras with a Video Frame Rate of 30Hz/60Hz (Greater than 9Hz) are controlled for export under the U.S. Department of Commerce.

Export Control Classification Number (ECCN) 6A003.b.4.b

These cameras are as follows:

  • FLIR VUE: 336x256 / 640x480 Thermal Imaging Cores
  • FLIR Quark: 336x256 Thermal Imaging Core
  • FLIR A35 & A65 Thermography Series
  • FLIR A3XX Series Thermography Series
  • FLIR A6XX Series Thermography Series
  • FLIR F-320 & F-640 Series
  • FLIR FC320 & FC-640 Series
  • FLIR PT-320 & PT-640 Series

These cameras can be exported to Strategic Trade Authorized (STA) countries which are exempt from a license but a Consignee Statement would need to be filled out by the recipient prior to receiving the product.

STA IS NOT Applicable to Military End Uses or Military End Users.

Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey and the United Kingdom.

For other countries a valid export license must be obtained from the U.S. Department of Commerce prior to export or re-export of such devices outside of the United States.

Note: There are several countries to which the export of thermal imaging cameras is prohibited under any circumstances, regardless of the camera resolution or video rate.

These terrorist supporting countries are: Cuba, Iran, Libya, North Korea, Sudan, and Syria. Export policies governing the export of thermal imaging cameras are established by the U.S. government, and in order for RHP International to comply with the policy requirements, we in turn ensure that our customers agree to these conditions.

The below 640x480 - 25Hz/30Hz (Greater than 9Hz) cameras are listed under the U.S. Department of State, United States Munitions List (USML) Category XIIc

FLIR QUARK 640x480 LWIR thermal imaging camera as well as other 640x480 LWIR Hand Held models operating at 25Hz/30Hz (Greater than 9Hz) are controlled as defense articles for export from the United States under the authority of the US Department of State, United States Munitions List (USML) Category XIIc.

U.S. Government authorization is required for export from the United States to all destinations, whether for permanent or temporary export.

Un-Cooled Thermal Video Cameras with a Video Frame Rate of 7.5Hz (Less than 9Hz)

These cameras may be exported under with No License Required (NRL) to all countries except terrorist supporting countries.

These terrorist supporting countries are: Cuba, Iran, Libya, North Korea, Sudan, and Syria. Export policies governing the export of thermal imaging cameras are established by the U.S. government, and in order for RHP International to comply with the policy requirements, we in turn ensure that our customers agree to these conditions.

Under no circumstances can thermal imaging cameras be used in the design, development, production, or use of nuclear, biological, or chemical weapons, regardless of frame rate.
